Booking Terms

Booking Terms & Conditions

Ok – this is the boring but important stuff you may want to know about the Dino Safari Park.   This is mainly for the person booking, however it applies to all ticket holders please do read it. By purchasing tickets you agree to all the terms and conditions.

We are so pleased you’ll be coming to the Dino Safari Park and we want you to have and amazing experience. With that in mind here’s everything you need to know:

Venue Address: 417 Bike Park, Birdlip
City: Witcombe
State: Gloucestershire
Country: United Kingdom

You will need to be able to get to the venue under your own volition.  We are unable to offer a shuttle bus or other pick up service from public transport or local hotels. However there are numerous taxi companies you can find locally.

1 – The Dinosaurs are ‘living’ animatronic / human blend creature suits, not static models or animatronics on a static base. This means they are very realistic and perfect for this experience.

2 – You are welcome to stay at the experience for as long as you like however we expect the overall experience to last around 2hrs . This includes registration, the main bus tour which last around 30mins, the Dinosaur Discovery Digs, Baby Dinosaurs and Scientist sections, which last about 30 mins each, however you can come and go as you please. It is important you arrive at the time specified on your ticket. If you are late you may not be able to join the Bus Tour. Tickets are timed and subject to availability so if you purchase a ticket for a time slot and miss it, it is unlikely we will be able to get you on another Bus Tour time slot.

3 – Tickets are non refundable but are transferable. We have very limited tickets available so tickets themselves are non refundable. However if you find you cannot use your tickets for some reason, you are welcome to give or sell them to someone else. In this case please notify us so we can alter the booking name that is assigned to those tickets. To notify us of a ticket transfer, please email us with both parties contact details, original purchaser and new owner, the booking reference, confirm the date and time of the booking. We will check the information and once verified reply to confirm the new name on the booking.

4 – Ticket bookings are handled by our ticketing agent EventSmart and all transactions are secured through their secure servers. Once a ticket is booked you will receive a receipt and a confirmation email. In the event you do not receive it please check the following information. Please ensure you have fully completed your transaction. Please ensure you have used the correct payment details and that they are valid. Our ticketing system is tested regularly to ensure it is working, however we cannot be held liable for any issues with the EventSmart service. If you are having a problem please contact us and we will be happy to help.

5- Disabled access is something we are really concerned about and we want to make Dino Safari Park available to everyone. There are some limitations to what we are able to offer. Wheel chair users that are unable to get in and out of a standard mini bus, stand for up to 5-10 minutes and sit in the mini bus for 30 minutes without the need to use the wheel chair would not be able to board the bus tour. We are working on a wheelchair accessible option for this part of the experience however, at this time we cannot provide a viable option for this part of the experience. Any wheel chair user that is able to board the minibuses, stand for 5-10 minutes (or remain on the bus when visitors are allowed off) and sit in the standard seats, will be able to enjoy this part of the experience. Other sections of the experience such as the baby dinosaur petting zoo and the meet and greet are all accessible to all. We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you we are working toward solutions to make sure Dino Safari Park is fully accessible for everyone.

6 – Babies and small children under 2 years of age can go on an adults lap, in their arms and or lap rather than on a seat, but anyone doing so does at their own risk. Car seats are not provided. Any child of 2 or over will be required to have a ticket and sit on a seat.  Vehicles are moving on private land at low speeds however safety is paramount, please respect the safety concerns and directions of staff at all times. If in doubt do not take risks. If operation staff think a child is too large to be on a lap they will require a ticket. All children over 2 years of age require a full ticket.

7 – The Dino Safari Park is open to all ages though there maybe some parts which are more suited to some ages rather than others. Whether you are are really little kid or just a great big kid refusing to grow up, Dino Safari Park really is the place for you.  If a member of your party feels scared our rangers are there to help make it feel ok and we would ask you to help let your family member or friend know it’s ok, but please never say “it’s not real”. At Dino Safari Park, we want to create the magic not just on the day, but forever with fantastic memories which is why we keep up the realism at all times.  If someone is scared remind them that “the rangers will keep us safe”.  Let’s make this an incredible event for everyone.

8 – The Dino Safari Park is based at the 417 Bike Park on the day it is closed, so on the day it will be re-branded to look less like the Bike Park and more like a Safari Park.  Please bare with us if you see something cycling related!

9 – Safety is absolutely paramount so please exercise caution at all times. We have done everything we can to limit risk, however all individuals enter the facility at their own risk and must take care not to injure themselves. Be aware of moving vehicles and trip hazards that could cause injury. If you do hurt yourself please let a member of staff know immediately.

11 – There is a cafe on site with refreshments and tasty treats, if you have an allergies or dietary requirements please inform our staff and they will accommodate you.

10 – Management have the right to refuse or terminate any ticket holders experience if there is any bad behaviour, signs of intoxication, drug use and or anti social or threatening or harassing behaviour either to other guests or to members of staff. If a ticket holder acts in such a way that management deems such action is required there will be a strict no refund policy and police may be called. The Dino Safari Park is a wonderful family friendly experience that all ages should enjoy and we want to keep it like that, so please help us by being nice at all times.

11 – We are here to help and to make this a special experience so please let us know if you have any special requirements or if it’s a birthday or something similar.  We will do our best to make it that extra bit wonderful where we can.

We really hope you have a fantastic time and to help you enjoy the experience we have created this little info pack to help you get the most out of the day.

Visitor Experience

Driving to Dino Safari Park using Google Maps or any other satnav / map system please use the following address:

Flyup 417 Bike Park,

Witcombe, Gloucester

GL3 4UF

If coming from Witcombe, head towards the A417 under pass (do not go under it if coming from Witcombe) and the turning for the entrance will be on the right hand side. Look for the blue sign. Turn onto the access road and follow it round to the left, then up the hill toward the main area. Follow the signs and head to the car park. Please factor in the time of your booking and arrive prior to that.

On arrival at the park follow the access road all the way up to base and at the fork keep to the left and head up the car park. Once you are at the car park please make your way to the fencing that leads to the check in desk next to the Raptor Barn. From there the experience really begins

Once your experience finishes you are free to stay longer, however at the point you wish to leave, please be mindful of other vehicles and of people and or dinosaurs crossing the roads and moving close to the roads.

What you need to know

Tickets – you can print your booking confirmation or show it on your phone. Whichever you prefer however there is no need to print.

If you are showing it on your phone you may wish to screenshot it or download the ticket as the signal can be pretty bad in this prehistoric area. Once it has been used it cannot be used again so please do not share it with anyone that is not part of your group. Once it’s used it’s used. Please have and keep your group together for check in.

Please arrive in the car park just before the ticket time. If you are on the 930 am ticket please arrive for 920am. It will take approximately 5-10 mins to get from the main road to the car park. The car park to the check-in desk will take 1-2 mins from when you leave the car – please factor in this time.

Duration – The experience should last around 2 hours however you are invited to stay longer if you so wish. Rangers will direct you from the activities toward the next one, in this case, you can choose to stay where you are but we do suggest you follow the main story / visitor journey. You can always go back to any points you wish later on. Your ticket is valid for one ride on the main tour.  If you want to do the main tour again, there may be opportunity if there are available tickets. In this case you will need to enquire at the check in desk to see if there are tickets and cost.

Health & Safety – We have taken every precaution possible to ensure the safety of our visitors, however please act responsibly and keep children supervised. Please be aware of moving vehicles when on foot. When in your vehicle driving to or from the car park, please be aware of pedestrians and drive with care and caution. When on foot please be aware of uneven surfaces that could cause a trip or fall. When in the Dino Safari Park vehicles on the main drive please ensure you are seated safely and that any children in your group are also.

All tickets are timed – If you miss your bus tour time slot we may not be able to get you on another tour. If you miss it and there is no space on other bus tour times, you will be able to enjoy the base area but we will not be able to accommodate you with another bus tour option so it is really important to get there ahead of the time required. There will be no refunds.

Weather – the weather could be very hot so please ensure that you have the required sun protection as a lot of the event is outside. In the case of heavy rain we will make adjustments to the experience for safety and comfort however it’s worth bringing appropriate clothing to ensure you enjoy your visit.

In the event we have to postpone the event due to extreme weather that would cause a health and safety risk or any other reason out of our control, all ticket holders will be given another date automatically. If the ticket holder cannot make that date they will be offered a refund. Refunds are only valid for 6 days past the event date or the date the date the postponement is announced on social media and via email, (whichever is sooner). If we do not hear from a ticket holder within that time period the tickets will be transferred and there will be no further opportunity for refund.

The Cafe – The cafe takes card and cash payments. If you would like to visit the Cafe there’s plenty of tasty options to eat and drink. Please let the cafe staff know if you have any allergies and or dietary requirements that they may not know about.

The Shop – we do have a small selection of fun and amazing merchandise for those that are looking for a memento. There’s no pressure to buy anything but for those that would be interested here’s some info. These include some real fossils. All fossils have been sourced from a reputable dealer and verified. There are also some little fun things! The shop will hopefully be taking both card and cash payments. The old stone building makes card payments tricky from time to time, however we are hoping there will be no signal issues and the card machines will work. But cash will always be accepted.

All experiences will vary. As it is a live experience some experiences may differ. If we are struck by adverse weather some experiences may have to be adjusted but we have back up plans for this.

Filming & Photography – We will be filming and photographing the event and will make the footage available for our visitors to enjoy as well as use it for our marketing purposes. No one will be negatively reflected in the video or stills but if you would prefer not to be included in the final edit and or final images, please let a member of our check in staff know and they will ensure a note is made to exclude you from the final edits.

Rules of Dino Safari Park

KEEP THE MAGIC – The Dinosaurs are real. If a member of your group is scared or worried, please make them feel safe with “it’s ok the Rangers will keep us safe”  or “don’t worry it’s a friendly Dinosaur”  –  Please do not say “it’s not real”. This is a group experience and hearing “they aren’t real” will ruin it for someone else and we want everyone to enjoy the experience to the fullest.

OBEY THE RANGERS – The Rangers are there to help you enjoy the experience and keep you safe as well as keep your experience running to time. Please follow their direction at all times and feel free to get as caught up in the performance as they are. This will make it more fun for you and for everyone.

PLEASE BE NICE – It may be hot, it may be wet, we will do our best to get everyone through and into the attractions as quick as possible, but there will be a queue to get everyone’s name checked off and into the park. Once you are into the park there will be a short wait at the Raptor barn for the Safari vehicles to take you into the paddock, during this time there are experiences and photo opportunities to take advantage of while you wait. If you need refreshments during this time you can use the cafe, but please do not miss your Safari Drive. It will go without you!

Please be considerate to other guests and our team. There will be lots of people all wanting the same experience and it has been designed in such a way to make that feasible but during any moments of waiting or during photo ops please be considerate to others. Big people, please keep an eye on language that little people might not have heard before.

ASK FOR HELP – if you need something our team will do our best to help so please just ask us. The best places to ask for non emergency help is the Cafe or Check in. One of the team will be able to get the right member of the crew to help you. In the event of an emergency please go to the nearest team member who will be on hand to assist you.

MANAGEMENT – The management is here to ensure the experience is good for everyone and we have all worked incredibly hard to create something magical. Any behaviour that could ruin the experience for other visitors, or any abusive behaviour or behaviour that endangers any visitor or staff member will be dealt with by management and may result in removal from the site and or refusal of entrance and in serious cases, police action. The managements say is final. In cases such as this no refund will be given.

We hope you have the most amazing time with us and look forward to meeting you!
